It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...

...at "Casa de Chessher"! We decorated our house, inside and out, the weekend of Thanksgiving to prepare for my family's early Christmas celebration! Mom, Dad, Tim, and Amber drove in, this past weekend, so we could celebrate our Distel Family Christmas!

More pics and posts to follow, it's just been so busy these past several weeks! However, we are LOVIN' this time of year and hope you are too!

Wurstfest & a Wedding

Ever since I moved to the Austin area, I've been wanting to go to Wurstfest in New Braunfels! This past weekend Scott and I decided to take a little weekend getaway, starting first at Wurstfest on Friday night! Oh.my.gosh -- what a blast it was!!! I mean who doesn't like German food, all the beer you can drink, and doing the chicken dance to polka music?!? Awesome!
On Saturday, we were honored to be able to go to a friend's wedding in Campbellton! Philip (the Seth James Band bassist) and his lovely lady, Jessica, got married in a small, precious Cathloic Church and had their reception out on his family's ranch! Scott and I two-stepped the night away under the stars! Unfortunately there are no pics of the reception b/c our camera died - darn it!
And to complete our trip, we passed through San Antonio, on Sunday afternoon, to visit with Scott's mom and Meemaw! It was such a fun weekend!

Happy Birthday, Macee!

On Nov. 2nd, a special little gal turned 2! Chris and Katie had several friends over for a fish fry and party to celebrate Macee Jane's birthday! We all had a fun time and the food was soooo yummy! Happy Birthday to MJ - Ott & TT love you so much!

Halloween

For Halloween I helped throw a couples' shower, with all of my Tech gals, for our friend Ashley and her fiance Jay! Ashley and Jay are getting married on Dec. 19th in Mexico, baby!!!

We all decided to dress up as something that represented the couple -- we had the Octomom and her dr., a lobster, a Mexican wedding couple, a pair of dice, a cyclist, Barbie, Boston Red Sox fans, a hotdog, the Chick Fil A cow, and me - a Diet Coke! Everyone looked so awesome! The party turned out to be such a blast and it was a fun way to get everyone together and wish Ashley and Jay all the best!

(get it, "paradise" - where they are getting married!)
Genius! Creative! Love it!
All of the hostesses and families!
When Summer 2010 hits, between these girls there will be 7 babies!!!!!!
I love you, gals!

Pumpkin Patch

Several weeks ago, Katie and I took Macee and Max to Sweetberry Farms in Marble Falls! It was such a pretty day to go to the pumpkin patch! And, because this place is so awesome (and gets ya totally in the mood for Fall) we decided then and there to make it a yearly tradition! They had everything from hay and pony rides, to pumpkin painting, to feeding goats, to a corn maze! It will be a place that is fun for years to come!

Out on a "School Night"!

Mid-October, Scott and I went out on a "school night," as I like to call it! We hardly ever go downtown, esp on a Weds. night (since we live so far north in Cedar Park), but w/a good friend putting on a good show, how were we to pass it up?!? Our friend Seth played at the Saxon Pub and we had such a fun time! Look to see if he's playing in your area -- you will not be disappointed!
p.s. Walt Wilkins was amazing to see as well!

Garner State Park

This weekend we joined our good friends, Ashley & Daniel Sahl, and went camping at Garner State Park on the Frio River! It was such a beautiful park where we enjoyed a really fun weekend! The weather was cloudy and a little rainy, but that didn't stop us! We set up camp on Friday night and headed home late Sunday afternoon on a warm sunny day! It was so refreshing and relaxing to get away from the "city" life and take in all that the Lord has to offer us in nature! We LOVE being outdoors!!! Our time was spent biking, hiking, cooking & eating great meals, and just sitting & chatting over the campfire! This is the reason why I love the Fall season so much -- it's perfect camping weather! We are ready to go again! Thanks to Dan and Ash for such a fun time together! We cherish the moments we get to spend w/you two!

We didn't know this guy, but sat and watched him and some others swing into the water!

It's essential to have Christmas lights up when we camp, no matter how dangerous it may be to put them up!
Me and my girl! She always does so great when we camp, except for we let her eat wayyyy too much steak leftovers on Sat. night and she ended up very sick in Scott's new truck on our way home! Ouch!

A Visit From the Folks

My mom and dad came to Austin a few weekends ago! My dad had a PA conference downtown, so it was a perfect time to be able to visit w/them for a couple days. Friday night we ate dinner at the Hula Hut and invited Chris, Katie, Macee, and Max! It had been forever since mom and dad had seen Chris, Katie, and Macee and they had never met Max! It was so much fun for all of us to hang out! All of the pictures below are from our dinner on Friday -- I didn't take anymore from the rest of the weekend, which consisted of golfing, shopping, a belated anniversary dinner, church on Sunday, and custom-kitchen-curtain making by my mom! We enjoyed our visit w/them and look forward to our quick trip to the Falls, this weekend, to hang out again!

She must be fascinated w/bald heads or think they are yummy!?!
"Papa Tom" in training (and no, I am not pregnant...yet)!
We laughed at Dad, he looked like such a pro while the rest of us were taking pictures! This must have been how he looked w/Tim and I at such an early age! Too cute!
We always have so much fun w/these two!
And these two too - We love ya'll, Mom and Dad!
