Baby Chessher's Nursery

Ready or not, Baby Chessher is on his/her way! The nursery is about complete and is ready for a new little occupant! Not knowing the gender of our baby hasn't been too difficult in the planning process...we've stuck w/neutrals all the way around and will add in bursts of more blue, or pink, when the time comes!

We bought the crib & changing table quite awhile before we got pregnant! For a grand total of $50 on Craigslist and exactly what I was looking for - jackpot! We threw it in the attic until the time was right! And, the bedding was given to us by some friends (it was used in their son's nursery) - for FREE! It's so beautiful and I knew we could work with it for a boy or a girl!

A view from the doorway. Dog has decided to nap in the nursery the past few weeks! I think she is ready to meet the baby!
Over the years, my aunt has helped me collect vintage chapter/storybooks! I've always wanted to use them in a kiddo's room! The boots were Scott's when he was a little boy & one of my dad's patients handmade the rocking horse!

We can't wait to share the beautiful view of our frontyard w/our little one! Not quite sure, yet, if we should anticipate poo & pee on the blinds and curtains, but oh well - it will all be part of the adventure of parenthood, right?!?

I am sure we will spend a lot of the first few months in this comfy rocker! This was Scott's Meemaw's chair! I plan on doing some sort of picture collage on the wall, above the chair, once we take our newborn photos!

This will be the monogram over the crib, in blue or pink, once we know what we are having!
The dresser is another great Craigslist find and the mirror I found in Scott's mom's garage! I spray painted it black to use in our hallway, but now I need to change it up w/some ivory paint! Maybe I'll get to it this weekend...! The small rocking chair was mine - a gift to me, on my 1st bday, from my grandparents!

Of course, the nursery will look a bit different over the next several weeks as we settle into life as a family of THREE and know if we'll be the parents of a SON or DAUGHTER!!! We think everyone should keep the gender of their unborn baby a surprise - the anticipation has been SO FUN! I mean, how many cool surprises do you get to have in this lifetime!?!

Easter Fun!

We spent Easter weekend at our friends' ranch this year! What a nice getaway before we won't be able to "get away" for awhile! We had a blast doing a mix of relaxing and running around their 500+ acre ranch! This 9-month pregnant gal was probably doing some things I should not have been doing, but who can pass up long rides on the Ranger, climbing up to a 20-ft treehouse, and fishing off a floating barge in snake-infested waters?!?! Our cup of tea!!!!!!!!! We also took advantage of some fun w/the camera -- we've decided against getting professional maternity pics, so we just took some fun, and very random, ones of our own! These are a few of my faves!

(there are quite a few more, like the one at the top of our blog, but I'll save posting space & just share these...)

37 Weeks

Yesterday was our 37-week appt and we found out that our little baby blessing has no plan on joining us soon, at least this week! Nothing is progressing thus far, so Hattie Claire, or Stone Thomas, must want to bake a bit longer! That's quite alright for this mama and daddy, even though mama is starting to feel more and more uncomfortable each day! Whew! The countdown is definitely on and we are so ready to meet our daughter or son!!!

Baby Shower, Numero Dos!

Last Saturday, a combo of our precious family & friends threw us a second baby shower at Casa Chapala in Austin. We have loved this restaurant for the past few years, so I was giddy to find out that my hostesses wanted to honor me and Baby Chessher with a party in a place that has such a fun atmosphere & yummy food! We all had a blast!!!! I've even heard from several of my guests that it was one of the most fun baby showers they have ever been too! Awesome! Once again, we were showered with many gifts! What fun it was been to finally start taking tags off of things & get things washed and organized in the nursery! This.is.getting.REAL!!!

A huge THANK YOU to Katie, Mai, Ashley, Barbara, Susan, Meemaw, Michelle, Lisa, Linda, and Nancy for wanting to host a shower for us! All the planning and details did not go unnoticed and we are so grateful, and appreciative, for such wonderful people in our lives who always make us feel special and loved! Baby Chessher is going to have the most fun time meeting all of you!!!

A special thank you, too, to my mom and Linda, for traveling from WF for the shower and helping me all weekend long getting things in order! We were busy little bees, but I enjoyed every minute of our time together and I always do! Love you both!!!

Baby Shower, Number One!

On Sat., March 12, my incredible girlfriends threw me, and Baby Chessher, a darling baby shower in Wichita Falls! What a great time to head home, visit my parents, hang out with friends and family, and celebrate our new little addition! It was such a fun party and I had a blast visiting with a lot of ladies that I had not see in awhile! We are so blessed by the many gifts we received - they will all be so useful for our son or daughter! All the gifts are fun, creative, and yes, practical!!! Scott and I enjoyed coming home and going through/organizing them all in the nursery!

THANK YOU to Lisa, Jessica, Baize, Falish, Parker, Kristen, Traci, Kelly, Ashley, & Brooke for once again making little 'ol me feel so loved and special by throwing a party in my honor! I can't wait to introduce Baby Chessher to some of my most fave gals in the world! I love each of you!

I also want to thank my mom and dad for opening their home, over the weekend, to all the comings and goings of me, Scott, Tim, Amber, Bryson, Jessica, and Bella! What a treat to have my family and best friend all in one spot for a whole weekend! And, thank you to Jess and Bella for making the trip from West Texas to come celebrate w/us! I can't tell you how much my cup runneth over!
