Two Thumbs Up

Last night we went to Lake Austin for an evening of fun in the sun w/our friends, The Klauss'! Thank you to Randall & Shauna for letting us tag along on your boat -- we cruised the lake, swam around a bit, and did some skiing & wake boarding! Ahhh, the life! I love this 100+ weather only if I can be in the water!!!

AND, last weekend Scott and I treated ourselves to the Broadway show "Wicked" in San Antonio at the Majestic Theatre! It was amazing! I get all sorts of giddy when I can sit and watch people sing, dance, and act -- it would be my dream job, seriously! If you haven't seen it yet, go see it! It's a fabulous twist to the oldie, but goodie, Wizard of Oz!!!

And, a few more pics from the lake...

Duck and Cover!

A week ago, tonight, we had some bad storms. Our city's storm sirens were even blaring! There was thunder, lightning, some rain, and hail. As if that weren't enough, there were several wall clouds in the area and some spotted funnel clouds, although none were reported as "touch down." It was a tad bit scary for awhile, so Dog and I thought it was our safest bet to get in the most interior room in our house, w/no windows, and duck and cover - aka: in the tub! This is our guest bathroom and we've been in the process of renovating it a little bit. Therefore, that is why you do not see Scott ducking and covering w/us...he was busy painting and taking our picture!

My Girls

When we graduated from Tech, a group of ten of us decided to try to meet once a year for a reunion, of sorts. We usually met in the central part of Texas -- a fine meeting point for us who were strewn all over our great state! As the yrs have gone by, it's become harder and harder for all of us to get together, unless there has been a wedding or a new baby born (which has happened quite a bit over the past several years)! This past Saturday could have been labeled a "reunion" because my friend Brooke's older brother Jason got married in Austin and we all were invited!

Scott and I started the morning off by welcoming Kelly into our home. She flew all the way from NYC to be at the wedding (and enjoy her family, for a week, in Temple)! We headed down to eat at Shady Grove to surprise Lisa with a 30th bday lunch! The party was just getting started when our waitress let us know that some transformers had blown and the restaurant was basically shutting down b/c they weren't going to be able to cook more food until things came back on. Off to Freddie's we went, on South First Street, for some good grub and cold drinks (man, it was a HOT day!) We then headed back to the Omin Hotel for some cool down time, in the pool, before the wedding began. At 6pm, the festivities started and we were enjoying a wedding, down-home Austin style -- complete w/hotdogs, cotton candy, a picture booth, and handmade recycable decor! It was a fun day! We missed Brooke (she was helping w/wedding preparation) and we missed Jessica too (she was home in Wichita Falls with her little man, Charlie). I miss these girls dearly and really enjoy our time spent together!

Until next time...

This was almost 2 yrs ago! What a fun night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sweet Sunday, revisited

It's been two Sundays in a row that we've been able to spend w/Chris, Katie, Macee, and now Max! This has been such sweet time for both Scott and I! I mean, who doesn't want to hold a 2-week old baby and run and play with a 19-month old!?!?!? Fun, fun, fun!

It has been fun to see Chris and Katie as daddy and mommy to two little ones instead of just one. I love to see them all interact w/one another - it brings joy to my heart, and honestly, tears to my eyes! At times, I think "I can't wait for this to be us!"

Thank you, again, for letting us came hang out w/ya'll! Here is a look of our Sunday in pictures!

BFFs

Two weekends ago, my BBF Jessica, along with her husband Rusty, Rusty's cousin Wade, and their little sweet pea Isabella, dropped in for a quick visit to our house! They were in town to watch some state softball tournaments and decided to stay the night with us! What a treat! We hardly get to spend much time w/one another these days, so to have her at our house, with the rest of her family, and to spend the night was awesome! We also had Scott's sister, Lisa, her hubby Chad, and baby Haylie in from San Antonio! We didn't have big plans w/everyone in town - we just ate dinner and sat in our backyard and visited! Jess and I even managed to stay up longer than everyone else talking and catching up, in my bathroom, nonetheless!!!!

Oh, how I love my time w/Jess and wish it could be more often! She is my soul sista, my inspiration, and my best bud! I love you, Jess! Please come back and see us!

Oops, how could I forget?

Over Memorial Day, we had the pleasure of meeting up with our friends, the Bills. Ryann, Gant, and little Parker had come down from Plano and were staying at Horseshoe Bay in Marble Falls. It's a hop, skip, and a jump over to Marble Falls from Lake Buchanan, so we decided to meet up! What fun we had in as little as 4 hrs!!! We took Macee with us so her mama could use a much deserved break. We sat on the balcony and watched fellow lake goers and played in the resort pool! We had a great afternoon, but also had a very tired little girl on our hands!

Thanks Ryann and Gant for having us over -- we'll need to do it again soon! It was fun to finally meet Parker too - he's a doll!

Finally...

...the pictures of our nephew, Max, who is celebrating his week old birthday today! He is a precious little boy who is already stealing all of our hearts!

We were able to spend some quality time, at our house, w/Chris, Katie, Macee, and Max this past Sunday afternoon! Macee and I had some good one-on-one time while Katie just enjoyed hanging out with her little guy. Scott and Chris worked hard on getting our guest bathroom painted and had fun tinkering w/Scott's new saw out in the garage. I love Sunday afternoons at home!

p.s. an early HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to Katie and Chris! They will be celebrating 4 yrs of wedded bliss tomorrow! How blessed they are w/a happy marriage and two wonderful children! Enjoy your special day, ya'll! We love you both!
