Heavy Heart

I have a heavy heart today - just knowing a lot of people, who I care for deeply, are in need of prayer and God's guidance...

A friend, and her newborn babies, in the hospital; a friend whose dad just passed away; a newly married couple and their growing pains; my own life and the complexities and emotional toll of trying to have a baby; etc.

I rejoice in the plan God has for EACH of His children and I am thankful for consistent reminders of His love for all of us. Scott and I receive a daily email of "Our Daily Bread" and man, some of these, on certain days, can hit me like a ton of bricks!!! The one I received today did just that and I had to share! I hope it makes you hopeful and puts a smile on your face and a skip in your step! I love you all! Have a blessed weekend!

Fun-Filled Weekend

Friday we ate at The Gristmill for dinner, hung out at Gruene Hall for Seth's show, and spent the night in a bed and breakfast in New Braunfels! On Saturday our friends, Danny and Kelly, had a crawfish boil! And, on Sunday, Scott and his friend Randall continued welding their BBQ pit! It was a fun-filled, fast-paced weekend!

Flower Power

Lubbock

Last weekend I flew to Lubbock for a bridal shower for Amber and to celebrate my brother's 29th birthday! I don't recall that I have posted previously about this yet, but Tim and Amber have already gotten married!!!!

On Sat., February 6, 2010 Amber and Tim said "I Do" in a quaint ceremony in her parents' backyard! My parents, Amber's parents, Amber's brother, and Amber's aunt were guests at the ceremony. Scott and I were unable to go because we were dealing w/my miscarriage - uggh! Anyway, their marriage was pushed forward, a bit, by the news that they are expecting a little bundle of joy at the end of September! We are all soooo excited for the new Mr. and Mrs. Timothy John Distel AND for the arrival of a brand new baby in the family...this will be the first grandbaby for my parents and Amber's parents! Scott and I are thrilled to become and aunt and uncle again too!

We all had a great time in Lubbock! Amber's shower was beautiful and they received some wonderful gifts! We enjoyed a fajita dinner at their house on Sat. night in honor of Tim's birthday! I was also SO EXCITED to be able to spend some time w/one of my most favorite little families...The Barker's! Sis, Caleb, Baize, and Lainey came over to Tim and Amber's house to help us celebrate! What fun we all had! I love my precious family and am so excited that I now have a new sis in law!!! We love you, Amber & Tim Distel, and we are so proud of you both!

Easter 2010

Scott and I drove to Wichita Falls to celebrate Easter with my parents this year! We were also excited to be able to spend time w/our precious friends - The Walker's! They welcomed their second son, Jack Manford Walker, into the world on March 15th! We loved being able to get us some new-baby lovin' as well as have some fun with our godson, Charlie! We had a precious Easter: spending time w/dear family and friends and recognizing that our Savior rose from the dead - Hallelujah!!! Hope yours was just as blessed!

Fired Up For Fishin'!

Our friends, Maianne & Dave Sahl, had a fish fry several weekends ago to welcome the start of fishing season! The party was family-friendly complete with: tons of yummy food, fish themed cupcakes, a bounce house, and stickers for the kids to decorate their fishing poles! Dave even parked their boat in the yard for the kids to hop on and pretend to fish! It was a beautiful and fun day! Thank you, Mai and Dave, for hosting such a fun party for everyone!

Project Renovation!

Every Tuesday night we meet up w/several other couples for a small group Bible Study! We rotate with meeting as couples one week, then the gals meet up the next week, then couples, then the guys meet up, etc. This group has been a saving grace for Scott and I as individuals, as well as in our marriage! We are extremely blessed by these friends! So, how much more blessed were we when three of these men decided to come over to our house to start our "project renovation" in our master bathroom!
The very special part of this is that it was the guys night to meet, last Tuesday, and the whole thing was set up as a surprise to me!!! I had NO idea that they were all coming to our house to completely demolish the bathroom and get it ready to go for our renovation! What a job!!!!! I could tell they were all having a blast tearing up tile, pulling sheetrock down, hauling out cabinets, & scraping off wallpaper (OK, so maybe the "scraping off wallpaper" part is a stretch -- that stuff is for the birds!!!) Anyhow, Scott and I are so thankful for their help b/c we are now down to studs and a bare floor and are ready to start choosing new tile, cabinetry, bead board, sink/faucet, etc.!
Thanks again Danny, Emmett, & Andy!!!
Ya'll are some handy dudes!
